THE AFRICAN ENVIRONMENTAL FILM FOUNDATION’S LEGACY
AEFF’S library of completed films is probably the largest and most detailed set of educational films about environmental issues in East Africa today.
In a hundred years from now these intimate and detailed records, of an era from the 21st century in East Africa, will still be there for all to see, transferred by one technology to another as different ways of storing film are developed.
The names of the people who were responsible for creating the films will be forgotten, their names unimportant in the passing of time; but the lessons learnt from a period when there were still areas of natural space, where wildlife and wild places were still intact, may inspire future generations of people to think twice about how they treat their own world.
That is the legacy of the African Environmental Film Foundation.
